FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Getting the Best Pour
01 Is there a Fizzics Perfect Pour tutorial?
Yes! Check it out on our tutorial page — we walk you through every step for a pub-quality pour every time.
02 Why does the foam last longer on some beers compared to others?
Foam quality and retention vary by beer style and brewery. For best results:
- Tilt the glass at a 90° angle directly under the spout.
- Pull the handle toward you to dispense approximately 2/3 of a glass.
- Release handle.
- Push handle backward for 1 second to add creamy Micro-Foam.
03 Is there any way to make the Micro-Foam last longer?
Yes! While enjoying your Fizzics poured beer, gently swirl your glass and watch the Micro-Foam head reappear — it's the science of a perfect pint.
04 Why am I getting foam when I pull the handle forward?
Highly carbonated beers can create excess foam. Try these steps:
- Open the can or bottle and let bubbles settle for 30 seconds before loading.
- Rinse glass with cold water — do not dry it.
- Hold the glass at a 90° angle while pulling the handle forward.
- Push handle backward for half a second to finish with Micro-Foam.
Highly carbonated beers take a little practice, but perfect pours come quickly!
05 Why does my machine sometimes spit at the end of the pour?
Like a keg tap, Fizzics uses pressure to dispense. When the can or bottle empties, residual pressure may cause a small spit. A reliable rule of thumb: pour 2/3 of a 16 oz glass, then finish with Micro-Foam.
06 Why is there sometimes beer left in my bottle or can?
The draft tube length is optimised to fit as many bottle and can shapes as possible. If a small amount remains, simply top up your glass — or enjoy it straight from the can!
Cleaning & Maintenance
07 What is the best way to clean my Fizzics machine?
- Fill a tall clean glass or rinsed beer bottle with warm water and load into the machine.
- Hold a glass under the spout and pull the handle for 4–5 seconds.
- Leave the machine to air-dry on the base overnight.
⚠️ Important: Never allow beer residue to dry inside the machine.
08 I'm cleaning the machine, but water won't dispense.
Try a different glass. The current one likely has a thick base that prevents the draft tube from reaching the water. Switch to a taller, thinner vessel.
09 Do I need to clean the machine after every pour?
No — rinsing after each pour is optional, as long as beer residue doesn't dry inside the machine. A quick rinse at the end of each session is all you need.
Hardware & Troubleshooting
10 Can I replace the tap handle with a commercial one?
The DraftPour's thread is intentionally narrower than commercial taps to prevent oversized handles, which can tip the machine over or damage the faucet mechanism. We recommend using the supplied handle.
11 I pull the handle but hear nothing — USB powered.
Confirm the machine is plugged into a wall outlet. If it still doesn't respond, test with a different USB adapter and cable. If that fixes it, contact us and we'll send replacements.
💡 Note: The USB cable does not charge the machine. The DraftPour only operates when plugged in or batteries are installed.
12 I pull the handle but hear nothing — battery powered.
Ensure batteries are fresh and correctly installed. Old batteries cause slow dispensing or no power at all. If fresh batteries don't resolve it, clean the contacts with a Q-tip dipped in white vinegar or lemon juice.
13 I hear the pump running but no beer is dispensed.
Fizzics uses pressure to push beer up the draft tube — no seal, no pour. Unscrew the canister from the base and inspect the blue o-ring on the clear collar. If it's twisted, straighten it so it sits flat in the groove, then re-attach.
14 Pump runs, o-ring looks fine, but still no beer.
Reach out via the contact form below and we'll ship a replacement o-ring to you right away — free of charge.
15 Can I order a replacement part?
